Your chance to advance scientific understanding to safeguard the Arctic

Climate change is real and affects all of us, wherever we are.

Your support can take you on an extraordinary adventure where you’ll help the next generation of researchers investigate, understand, and protect one of the most fragile environments on our planet.

During the past 15 years, INTERACT has supported around 1300 scientists to access 52 Arctic, Boreal and Alpine stations to conduct their research, resulting in new species discoveries (Bombus Interacti), improved understanding of the Earth climate system and its evolution throughout centuries, and increasing representation of Arctic environments in climate predictions.

The INTERACT Access Program, running from 2011 until 2024, was funded thanks to the EU 7th Program and EU Horizon Program, for a total amount of 7 million EUR invested in scientific research on the ground.

On average, a research project needs three scientists on site. Field work in Alpine Stations is usually carried out in about one week. Research in Arctic and Boreal Stations, especially Arctic remote stations in Greenland, North America and Svalbard requires a longer access period due to logistic constraints and harsh meteorological conditions, of around 10 days on average.

How can you support our science?

5 000 EUR

will allow access to one station to one researcher for 10 days

15 000 EUR

will allow access to one station to a research group for 10 days

30 000 EUR

will allow a multi-station research project of a research group for 20 days
