NICE PEOPLE OF INTERACT
1. A warm jacket
Giorgio found a book about the research in the Arctic and decided to go NORTHWARDS to talk to the nice people of INTERACT.
2. The Arctic's alarm bells
Giorgio is in Stockholm to meet Terry Callaghan, the founder of INTERACT, who will suggest him to go for his own expedition to the Arctic.
3. Why should we care?
Giorgio goes to the Abisko research station in the north of Sweden, to meet Margareta Johansson, the INTERACT coordinator. They will enjoy field work together in a mire.
4. Learn from each other
Giorgio wants to learn more about the Station Manager Forum, so he decides to visit the oldest research station in the Arctic: the Arctic Station in Qeqertarsuaq (Greenland) and meet there Morten Rasch and Elmer Topp-Jørgensen.
5. Accessing the Arctic
To know more about the Transnational Access program, Giorgio goes to the INTERACT General Assembly in Reykjavik (Iceland) to meet Hannele Savela and spend a very relaxing afternoon with her.
6. Together for the future
Niklas Labba is a Sami reindeer herder and a member of the INTERACT family. He's waiting for Giorgio to have a coffee together in the tundra. Together with Kirsi Latola they will explain the importance of collaboration between scientists and indigenous populations.
7. Bringing in inventors
Tomas Gustafsson is an expert of technology applied to the research in the Arctic. He will show Giorgio how to operate a drone, outside the Kilpisjärvi research station.
8. Science Diplomacy
The Arctic expedition ends at Terry's home, where Giorgio will learn more about the importance of Science Diplomacy.
